PRIVACY NOTICE

Your work stays yours.

Last updated: 22 October 2026
Controller: Craig J Logue, sole trader trading as Recipe Works Studio
Address: 10 Cranham, Yate, Bristol, BS37 4JT, United Kingdom

This notice covers the Recipe Works Studio website, early-access mailing list, support correspondence and current macOS preview.

Local-first desktop app

Recipe projects, recipes, photographs, recordings, audio and exports remain in folders chosen by the user. The current app does not automatically upload project content, telemetry or crash reports. A support bundle is created and sent only when the user chooses to do so.

Website and early access

If you join early access, we process your email address, consent record, signup time and confirmation status to send launch announcements, invitations and occasional product updates. Consent is the lawful basis. You can unsubscribe through any marketing email or contact us. Brevo hosts the signup form, maintains the list and sends confirmation and marketing messages. Google reCAPTCHA helps prevent automated abuse. Ordinary hosting and security logs may contain IP address, device, browser and request details.

Checkout, activation and recovery

The licensing sandbox uses Paddle test purchases, Render hosting and Resend transactional email. For a paid release, these services are intended to process purchase email, order and transaction references, plan, subscription and refund status, signed entitlement information, activation-credential hashes and validation times. These records allow us to deliver, verify, revoke and recover licences. They do not include your recipe or media content. Paddle collects payment information directly; the app and licence service do not collect full payment-card details.

Licence delivery and verification support the software contract. Fraud prevention and service security support our legitimate interests, and transaction records may also be required for legal obligations. Purchase and recovery messages are transactional; they do not subscribe you to marketing.

Recovery checks the transaction reference and purchase email against Paddle before sending a file to that verified address. Pending email content is encrypted on the licence server and removed after successful sending, cancellation or manual-review expiry. Resend processes message content and attachments for delivery. An activation file is a private credential and should be protected like a password.

Licensing records and retention

Order, entitlement and credential-hash records are retained for the period needed to provide and recover the licence, handle refunds or disputes, prevent fraud and meet applicable legal recordkeeping obligations. Buy-once licences may require long-term entitlement records. Hosting and email providers maintain their own operational records under their policies. We assess deletion requests against these purposes and explain any information we must retain. Security and request logs may contain IP addresses, browser information and timestamps. The production licensing service is not yet operating; its retention settings will be documented before paid activation opens.

Support and enquiries

We use correspondence and files you deliberately provide to answer requests and diagnose faults. Diagnostic attachments are normally deleted within 90 days after a support request closes; related correspondence is normally retained for up to 24 months.

Sharing and transfers

Fasthosts routes our email. Brevo processes mailing-list data. Google provides reCAPTCHA and Vercel hosts this preview website. Paddle handles checkout and purchase records, Render hosts the licence service, and Resend delivers activation and recovery emails. Each provider processes information under its own terms and safeguards; their processing may involve international transfers. We will document the production licensing service’s transfer arrangements and retention settings before paid activation opens. We do not sell personal information.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, withdraw consent, or request portability where applicable. Email privacy@recipeworks.studio. UK residents may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
